I'm happy you considered my comment, then stuck by your original decision. I would love to find a forum where we could have more in-depth and more responsive discussions ie. not just the one comment.
Re conditioning: I only really started to learn about things like rule of thirds etc. here at UF. But I believe that a good photographer will make their images work irrespective of the "rules". In fact, they are not rules at all, are they? They are just guidelines to help photographers produce a "good" image in "average" circumstances. So the so-called rules really don't apply to above-average photographers...
I hope that I will get a chance to see some of your work exhibited locally - I'm back in Tarifa next week and will probably be coming over to Malaga a week or so later.

Conditioning I think!.I discovered that cropping down to just above his hat has given him much greater presence in this scene.I think the central position adds to this. Interesting comments,as always(!). Take care, Tony Looking again I'm aware of the pyramidal composition with his head at the dominating apex position....I'm going to print this one out,I think I'll include it in the final collection.I've got so many in this series that the selection is really difficult!

A man at one with nature. Timeless indeed.
In my mind, I'm questioning the central position of the shepherd, but I can't decide if that's really an issue or a result of "conditioning". The animals on one side are nicely balanced by the rock on the other. Anyone else have views on that?

This is a beautiful image. As it was already mentioned, a timeless piece where the scene is valid now as 200 years ago. Excellent B&W conversion.
Great sight. Well done!
Cheers!
