First Blackbirds and now Rabbits. You really are trying to make me homesick aren't you Dave. Excellent capture with the lighting too if they are like the Kiwi rabbits and prefer to only come out at Dusk and Dawn.
Regards
Tony

Nice dof, you have captured the two so well yet focused on the one. Alison

Nice to see two of these guys together, and the bonus is that they are right in your back yard. Hope they don't do too much damage to the shrubs. Super reflection in the eye of the rabbit in the foreground.

I like the catchlight in his eye. Also, glad the rabbits are in Canada and not here eating the plants in our garden....

I always think it neat when forms repeat in the background, and this time flipped horizontal.

Hi Dave,
I still think you should break down and buy a lawn mower. :)

Interesting focus here, it has a real depth. It gives the feeling of a water color painting. I like it. Del.

I am not necessarily the best friend of nature photography, Dave, but you always manage to keep your images of animals very authentic, which makes them also carry some amount of documentation. And this is what I like in general on such images. It is not what we think or expect the animals to do, but just them, living beings on this world. I find that abetter approach than to "glorify" or to "beautify" them. I think that this way one understands much better that they don't need to "explain" themselves to us. They don't need to appear "appealing" to my human eyes.

On this one, as far as I can see, I see spring life on its simplest and thus best terms. Technically speaking the only thing I doubt is the darker top part, which perhaps could be vropped to some extend. But I must also admit that I tried some tighter crops of the top part, and it didn't really make any difference.

The gradually dissolving focus keeps much of reality and enhances also your main protagonist, who appears in a very good detailed way. One can really see that the rabbit is not only just "looking" but rather observing the surroundings its own way.

BTW, are they wild and visit your back yard? If so, be happy to have them. I only have bees and wasps around here! ;-)

Cheers!

Nick

Nice shot... I like the focus here as that works with the placement of the little rabbits, blur, sharp, one watching to the right and the other watching to the left, and that difference adds ballance into the frame Dave... very nice work.
