Thank you Jacques. We were doing a studio shoot yesterday, but since I just got my new 70-200 lens, I had to go play outside where it would make a difference. I mean, how can tell when a seamless background is out of focus, anyway?

Send 'em over, Julie. I'd be honored to get as detailed as you want (maybe more so).
Feel free to ask any questions you may have prior to the shoot.

Can you say bad hair day? my worst nightmare...haha. Just teasing Paul. Excellent work as always, I really like her eyes. I may be sending you an email soon with some questions if you don't mind. Myself and a couple of friends are renting some studio time in my school to "play" with lighting so I hope you don't mind if I email you some shots for critique.
Have a great weekend! Julie.

No, David, thank YOU. Her wild hair was a moment of serendipity: an assistant was just out of frame to the left holding a reflector to try to bounce some of the sunset back on her face. There was a strong wind, and the reflector was right in its way, which caused a lot of turbulence where she was standing.
She kept straightening her hair and smoothing it down, and I told her "don't fight it, just go with it". A few seconds later...POOF. ::click::

Well, this was a used Sigma telephoto, Peta, that a photographer across the state was selling off for $600 (instead of the $800 price for the new lens). The same Canon lens costs $1,200. I have used this Sigma before, and was very happy with it.
I'm also saving up for a new Quad-core computer for faster photoshopping, and couldn't predate those funds.

Hey Paul, I love it, a smashing portrait, I attribute it's appeal to the slightly 'out of control' air about Katie's look together with subtle colors, amazing hair, it's so good, thanks. david.
