Dear Joggie, thanks a lot, I have read all the reviews and wanted a final infor from yourself on the D200 as you are using the camera for such a long time. I also feel that its the best value for money deal now specially as the D200 prices are really low now. My D200 is coming today. In the coming future I will replace my D80 with the D300. But as of now I will stick to the D80 D200 combination.
Thanks again Joggie , I really appreciate you help.

Hi Debarshi I bought my D200 exactly 18 months ago, took about 18000 images with it and was never sorry about my decision. The D200 (if you cannot afford the D3, D300 or even better now the D700) is real value for money and I suspect they are fairly cheap now (2nd hand)with all the guys jumping for the newer models. Even after 18 months i have not utilised all the funtions available on the D200 and it gave me more than any camera I owned before (since 1978). It is highly dependable, quick to respond, give great quality between 100 and 320 ISO and good quality between 400 and 640 ISO from there its starts to get noisy, especially when you underexpose! (When I think back - I very rarely used slide film over 100ISO and the highest I would go with B&W was 400ISO and rarely 800ISO. We are very spoiled with the technological marvells available today. The D200 also has good weather seals, its big (which I like because it reduces a lot of camera shake and balances better with larger lenses) Its body is from molded magnesium I think, and can withstand a lot of punishment. Its controls is cut to the minimum and easy to reach, WITHOUT the LAZY settings for portraits, landscapes, close-ups etc. You can personalise your settings for JPEGS to enhance sharpening, saturation etc. in camera (I dont use this since I shoot everything in RAW). All in all a great camera - you can look at the reviews on the DPReview site - very informative. If you have a tight budget and you can get it for a good price (even 2nd hand) go for it! If you have money to spend go for the D300 or even better the D700 both of which have superior Noise control and ISO up to 6400 and beyond, vibration cleaning of the sensor, superior autofocussing, higher speeds, superior processing engine and a full frame sensor for the D700 to name but a few. With any of the three you will buy a solid, dependable camera capable of more you can handle for quite a time! Hope it helps! Remember - photos are first and formost made in our imagnation or minds-eye, we first visualize it and then we capture it with a tool - the camera. A good photographer can do more with a 3mp cellphone camera than a fool with the most expensive set of equipment - it all in the mind! Joggie
