Hmmm, I could burn the strongest highlights a bit before adjusting the contrast. Which might also be translated to a better image quality if the glass wasn't between me and the scene.

But the real problem of increasing the contrast afterwards is not this. The real problem is that the dirt on the glas will also be richer in contrast and thus turn the image worse. Same happans also in the shadows where then the grain/noise gets more visible. The attachment got "better" in some ways but at the price of the above mentioned now strenghtened problems.

Which of course shows, if anything, that the solid fundament of good photography is not photoshop but a good shot. With the *camera*. (Ow to me! ;-))
