Thanks for the comment Roger. I'll have to try your suggestions. I havent really used/thought about using the tools avaliable in Photoshop like that, I think I'll have to give it a try.

nice isolation.. for me I think I would select the dog then invert the selection and use the Gaussian Blur to blur the bricks a bit
