Well done. good composition, nice dramatic light with contrast to give depth. And I love the fun of looking at an old photo with period details-gotta love those glasses

Contrast : the apparent difference in brightness between light and dark areas of an image. For a light target against a dark background, contrast is computed as follows : C = (Lt - Lb) / Lb
Where Lt is the luminance of the target and Lb is the luminance of the background........

Then...

Acutance : in photography, the density gradient across an edge separating light from darkness, a physically measurable quantity that correlates well with subjectively observed sharpness of definition. By extension, in machine vision, a measure of the sharpness of edges in an image, as the average squared rate of change of the density across the edge divided by the total density difference from one side of the edge to the other........

Ok ok... Let's put an end to all this porn !!!!!!

Your picture is super contrasty and super sharpy... So what ?!

To me it's just coolissimo !!!!!!!

;-))

Ohhh she is beaming so... How this reminds me to get a life! Though these guys are probably millionaires right now, thanks to that one perfectly obscure stamp I threw away 26 years ago.... ;-)

O philatilistic bliss!!! Nice Jonathan -- I especially like the twining cord on the left, accentuates their pose for me. I, too, am really enjoying these old black and white photographs of yours. You have a wonderful eye and always seem to catch things just right. Of course, it ain't all luck, it's skill!

I don't think the contrast is too high at all.

High contrast, but it's a good photo of people.
