This series is of extreme macros at about 4:1, using a macro-converter for the reproduction ratio and also using extreme apertures for depth of field. I am ambivalent about the use f/64 and f/90 because the diffraction seriously reduces image quality. They are "good enough" for the web but are not suitable for printing at full size. Nonetheless, I feel that the great depth of field does give the images strong dimensionality.
Dan, thanks for taking the time to comment. Yes, I am familiar with helicon focus. Unfortunately, it does not have much application in the field where there are moving subjects and wind. Usually I am not bothered by macros with limited dof and am just experimenting with these small apertures. Eb
