Sometimes such stories can be very interesting. Somebody, who knows who, must have put the brick there some day in the past, which then was overgrown by the tree, which somebody else then takes an image of. Strange but interesting!

A very good find, Fabio! Is it a stone under the roots? It has quite a "regular" shape, that's why I ask.
Anyway, good tones and contrast on this one, and the composition allowed for perception of depth. The highlights on the top left add tension in the way of being in the shadows of the forest and seeing the stronger sunlight outside. Together with the nice textures on the wood I think that this would be a nice candidate for a wide variety of picture books.
