About
MM and I have 3 children. None live at home and none borrow money... life is good. Elizabeth is our youngest. She is now 23. Every bairn had to learn a musical instrument (MM's order!) Mike played sax, Nathan played trumpet, coronet and French horn. Eli, when asked very early on said, "Violin." I love my wife very much but she has this quirk. If she has something in her head, and asks you what you would like, she never hears the answer. Example: just this very night she asked what I would like for dinner. I hadn't eaten properly all day and bacon and eggs was just screaming to be had. A couple eggs, over-easy, a few slices of bacon, some toast and butter and a glass of apple juice. That's what I said to her. She came back with, "How about hamburgers?" Men who are married will understand what I am going to say now. When the wife asks what you would like and you tell her and she answeres with something totally different... go with what she says. There will then be peace in Spring Valley. "Hamburgers are fine." So back to this post and the kids. When Eli said, "The violin." MM replied, "I think you would like the flute. How about the flute." Eli played flute for 12 years. Just recently she audition for the United States Army band and was accepted. She goes off in 6 days to do 4 years service. She may even wind up in your part of the world doing a concert.
And yes... she eventually did learn to play the violin.... That is not Eli or MM in the photo.
