I find it very well done, Tony! The details and the plasticity of the horses are both very impressive and exacty, but in some "unreal" way. The lighting, I think, made them stand out so strongly, as of they would appear out of nothing.
The two different positions of the horses add depth, which supports the visual perceiving of the whole landscape with distance down to the horizon. The details of grass and earth ehnahce that very well too. In many ways it has the look and feel of the naturalistic wave for capturing something real in a very impressive way but without detaching completely from reality.

Actually, Dartmoor ponies are really camera- shy and move off very quickly ,quite different from the horses here which are sometimes too friendly!
