Oh Kes, what a sad story depicted here in the snow. A highly emotive scene of those things that fall to the ground in death. Wonderfully composed in great monochromatic tones with superb detailing even in the snowy background. We accept fallen leaves and twigs as part of the Autumnal/Winter norm but this once majestic hawk is just another reminder of the fraility of nature at times. Well done to you my good friend, great shot. My very best wishes to you as always....Ray

This one really gets the emotions flowing Kes.
Great job!
When I was scrolling down the image, I couldn't help noticing how good the image looked when about half of the top leaf was cropped away. I think maybe it's because it allows the eye to concentrate more on the bird that way.
