About Another one that gives me much of a headache. What is the best possibility to improve it? And any idea about some category where it would fit best?

I also "agree" in the sense of another possible arrangement for an image, but this is not the key point, as already said. It is the not adequate shot itself that has to be analyzed first of all. Why dodn't it work in its intention to present that corner? Content and arrangement are matters of taste. But the appropriate settings go beyond that. And this is the problem. Not what to do for generating some eventually "pleasant" conent" but rather to *turn* any given content to something special by means of skills - technique, settings, etc, etc.

Anything else, like for example looking for the "special" scene and content, is only amateuric non-understanding of photography. You don't look for the "special" and shoot. You *turn* anything, absolutely *anything* to special by the appropiate technique of the shot. This is what it boils down to. Or else, the same (still unknown) mistakes I did here would be also present on any ither image with any other vase, light, etc.

So, about this one, let's resume. No ideas until now for how to face this given situation. We keep in thinking, I wish we do.

Cheers!

Nick

Thanks a lot for the comments and even more for the hint, Gary!

As I said to Indranil too, this is only the *what*, not the *how* to capture it. It is promarily the setup/technique itself that needs refinement, or else any other content will not do. So, this is the real question: What to change on settings, angle of view, persoective, and so on? The content itself is secondary. The good image is that, which makes something special out of anything given. And here it is where I search.

Cheers!

Nick

I agree with Gary about lighting thoughts. There could be a single bottle with a single flower. May be a spot light from the top of the bottle and a little mild fill light you can use ;)

Thanks a lot for the nice comment and the ideas, Indranil!

What you say is regarding the *what*, not the *how* to capture it. As we know the *what* is unimportant - i.e. using the same setup of the camera the image wouldn't win absolutely anything by putting or taking away anything else on that place. It is the setup that has to be made better.

Cheers!

I suppose the key to this type of image is to keep it simple and let the colours (and the colour cast) do the talking. I would remove everything on the shelf except for one of the green vases. I'd also put a lower wattage bulb in the lamp.
Regards, Gary

Nice composition. I like the Colour combination. Specially green colour is acting overhere. Let me guess to enhance the view more, There could have been a single bottle with a single sunflower or series of bottles with a single sunflower on a bottle:)

Best Regards!
Indranil
