About Umm photogrphy I know is what UF is all about but there is one photo in this work... OK Step back in time 1984 to be exact.. I have just finished reorganising the storeroom I have gone through my early paintings collages etc thrown stuff out and photographed and catalogued the stuff.. I intend to whack em up here.

Portrait Shannon (810X810mm) is composed of thermal fax paper hand painted using spray can enamels which in some cases (the grey images) have then been re sent through the fax machine gelatin silver prints of Shannon and the No Entry sign. The image has been slightly damaged by broken glass during transport back after an art prize submission

This and the new model have given my ass the kick it has needed for a long time. There is nothing like food competition as long as no one gets their arms cut off by a Knight.

yeah I'd be up for that.. it might be just the kick in the pants I need to push me along... any likely contenders.. I have one or two over my side of the pond who I think might respond.. alll this single image stuff is so fecking boring.. I just need to reach escape velocity.. now theres a good name for an exhibition or somesuch eh kekeke

We should all be doing more of this kind of work mate. You have inspired me. Lets get a competition going on collage based work.

Thanks Mate.. I wish I could find the trigger to begin to produce this stuff again... theres just so little tactile stuff with photography these days... we move stuff round in a electronic playground that has sucked us all in... as I sit and think now.. whatever promted me to spray paint bits of paper... and then when they dried to put 'em through a fax machine.. what was I thinking.. still the fax didn't seem to mind... I do feel that having gone through this lot there are only about twenty works.. of which I have chucked out about four or five as seriously dodgy.. but I feel the temptation to try something again.. but I also had so much to say.. do we really become more complacent as we get older.. n e way ... sometimes I wish I had nver bought a digital camera as you dont have to deal with prints anymore... and that's a bit irritating it so easy to chuck a print in the bin whereas to discipline oneself in terms of deleting electronic images is something we rarely do.. we just buy another hard drive and fill it up...its interesting yesterday I found an old manilla folder.. yeah a real folder.. of developmental works for Self Centred my second one man show... boy oh boy.. looking at all the work prints plan details installation shots.. wow and all that all handwritten.. when one looks back at the deductive process wonderful...

Bravo for this one mate. This is the kind of work we should all branch out and try from time to time. Put more up as you find it.
