I think you're right, Bill - the crisp focus on the pillar contains as much detail as her face. I'll go in and apply a blur layer and tighten it up a bit.

Hi Paul,
Love the perspective and lighting on this....however, I think the column in the foreground is stealing the focus from a beautiful portrait.
I think I would give it a little tighter crop above the button and 50% into the column in the foreground. Then I would use the marquee or lasso tool on this column and the blur filter to soften it creating a narrower depth of field effect.
I am going to have to add the attachment, because I am now confused.

Thanks, Dave. This shoot was spurred by a nearby photographer who was willing to 'teach' me how to shoot in natural light (for only $150/hr). While I love the control that strobes offer, I am just as comfortable without them. Light is, after all...just light.
This whole session was achieved with only one modifier: a 4-foot reflector and stand.
