About The old palace in Romania, which was in good state till Ceausescu's dictatorship. Once, he wanted his people to make one film, I don't remember about what, but there was a fire scene in the script... So for the realism of the film he told to set the palace on fire. And now there are only poor ruins of that palace...

This pic gives a good feeling that the decay of old historical monuments have been reversed. Thank you also for the shocking story behind the ruins. Best, Ania, Gyorgy

Pozdrawiam,
Ania

But still, you would have to renovate it well ;) Maybe that's the idea, hehe!

Thanks, John!

Pretty nice shot... even the contraction materials at the frond of that building aren't the... most beautiful thing in the world to take a shot, the building is really very interesting... hehehe... and even in that ruin way I love to have it as my home.... :-)
Very nice!

That film would be not that of the quality according to Hollywood standards. "His" people should go back and reconstruct, immediately. Ceausescu would not stop them anymore. At least if you can start with the roof, now finish with the walls.
European funds seem always attractive, that is known such far away as in the desert of Mongolia, but the bankers and the car makers and the ... already took their stakes earlier this year. Now the only remaining funds are those reserves generated by the tax payers of today and those of the future :-) If this was just 50 km out of Paris I could immediately find a banker and 10 Romanians to finish restauration in 6 months.
cheers, Paul

What a stupid man he was sweetie. This was once a proud building and is now humbled in it's damaged state. Hopefully they are the materials scattered about to start some kind of repair programme. Great piece of photojournalism Ania with a very informative 'about' to go with it. Well done to you. Oh, go then, have another big HUUUUUUG and some more best wishes .........Ray

Dear Saad,
Perfect comparison...
Unfortunately the truth is that this restoration has been going on for years and there are absolutely no effects... Someone just wanted to start it but nobody really wants to continue... or there are no money for that... Maybe european funds in the future, who knows....

My best,
Ania
