About I was enjoying a lazy late-autumn Sunday afternoon in the Kirstenbosch botanical gardens here in Cape Town, South Africa. Wandering about the lush gardens I noticed this old and gnarled tree. It looked like hundreds of smaller trees reaching up and merging together, all becoming one to reach the source of their life.

My sister is a botanist and was non-plussed when on showing her this shot I could not tell her which tree it is. She is holding out on me till I figure it out :-D

The shot was taken an hour before sunset. Enjoy!
