Thanks so much Bob, not really :-) maybe an hour at these flowers, was quite lucky this day many many bees so didn't have to wait long for the next one to come. Maybe next time I can make you speechless with my new SLR and macro lens. This shot was taken with a point and shoot

It doesn't get any better than this. So clear and so much detail. The wings are almost transparent. It must have took a long time to get this picture. Very nice I am almost speechless :) Regards, Bob

Thar was exactly what puzzled me too, Dan. It seems many people found it not as good. Perhaps because it doesn't artificially "beautify" anything at all, which seems to be the main illness of many too many wannabes: They think that photography is for exposing their "wonderful Disneyland in mind" to others. ;-)
The image is great and that is what any preofessional photographer would say. That's all.
Cheers!
Nick

Very exact and vivid macro, with all it takes for a real good one. Any small detail on the bee is perfect and not exaggerated at all. The reflections of sunlight and the shadows on the bee make it gain a very tangible plasticity too. The exposure did a very good job for that.
The coloring is also very vivid. I only don't know if this one has a violett tint or if it was really a main hue of the whole scene. Anyway, one of the best bees I ever saw!
Keep it up!
Nick

Thanks Robert, on one of my screens that look too oversaturated and the other it looks fine, I think the levels do make a difference here.

hi dan.. your bee-busy is so very strong, that also the moment is so crucial and difficult.. the choice of exposure is so right, also because the light is so very dramatic and the exposimetr.. can easily go crazy. I have enclosed my personal view, without taking anything away from your masterpiece, it's only revisited in the levels and contrast that with that special light are the proof! cheers, my friend.. roby 7

Quite perfect (to me!) Nice colours, DOF, excellent details and I particularly like the tight portrait crop!
