About Tonight was the first game of the 2009 season for the Peoria Chiefs. Single A ball club affiliated with my beloved Chicago Cubs. In all the years and years and years and years MM and I have been going to baseball games, we had never managed to get a foul ball... until tonight when MM picked one up as it rolled lazily towards her. She smiled, I took a pic then we handed it to a young lad in the row of seats in front of us.

I prefer the six ... now when we were kids playin' in the backyard at home if it went over the fence it counted as a six.. but you got out as well.. hence .. over the fence and out

Yep, it is foul... or fouled off. Out of play. No meaning. And the fans get to keep it if ya catch one... or pick one up as it rolls slowly towards you. The only time a ball is hit into the stands and counts is if it goes into the bleachers... then it is a homerun... worth 1 run.

so if ya hit one into the stands, its a foul?? in cricket we give it an automatic (that is an unrun) six runs
