Hi Ray,
Thanks for the comment on this one. These birds do just tend to blend right into the background...until you catch them nice and close up with good light. I was very pleased with this one. I am getting used to the lens now :)
But, as you say, the male of the species always seems to have the outstanding outfit. At least in the bird world. This species happens to be one of the ones where the male and female don't even look like they come from the same species.
Thanks again for all the support Ray. I appreciate it.
Andre

The UK female blackbird is brown as you may well remember, the Canadian one is much prettier but hardly a 'blackbird' . It's a 'man's' World even in nature .
Another great shot my friend. The details are wonderful as indeed are the tones. Well done yet again Andre. WOW, what a lens and in the hands of a good photographer. Cheers mate......Ray

Thanks Marcio,
It would be nice if the light was like this for all my bird images. Unfortunately, it is not always the case. :)

Thanks Rashed,
I did a little research before I made the purchase of the lens and teleconverter combination. Quite a few people on the wildlife photo websites stated that they could not tell the difference in sharpness when adding the 1.4 afs. I'm starting to believe them now. Apparently when you go to the 2.0 teleconverter, there is a lot of softness introduced to the image.
That is interesting about the VR system not being compatible with the TC. My 300mm F4 AFS has NO VR.

This way my friend, you are doing a great job, I asked because of the TC been used here, usually I have a lot of problem with the 1.4TC, it did spoil most of my work, what I been told the my Vibration reduction system of the lens do not work with such TC added in between the lens and the camera, it defect the system, I am not so sure about this yet.

Hi Rashed,
With this one, I didn't add any sharpness. I only cropped the image slightly and a very slight adjustment in the levels bar. Otherwise, it is exactly as taken from the camera.
If I do post an image that has been sharpened I usually do it before resizing. I have had better luck that way. I never like the results from over sharpening because I find the images look a bit unnatural.

If this is not bothering you, may I know if you sharpnes the image before or after the resizing , please ?

Thank you my friend.

Thanks Rashed,
I got much better results this morning, now that I have a bit more practice with the lens. Also the "save for web" tip really helped.
Thanks again.
