An incredible interplay of lines, Saad, and I like the way the background has been blown out. I'm also pleased to see that your image has resulted in a discussion of it's history.
Regards, Gary

I agree with you Saad my friend, it is indeed amazing that Christian relics/icons have been patiently looked after by the Ottomans. The thing I couldn't remember was the why and how of the Romans going into Istanbul in the first place and the nature of the peoples they displaced. I must get my Gibbons out of the loft and bone up on it. Very best wishes to you my very dear friend, always.......Ray

Not at all ray,
it is so fascinating to hear from you or anyone else about our history as human beings,
Istanbul as I know have been there before Christ,
this column have been cracked many times, the cross over it was looted with all the city during the last crusade if I am not mistaken, and the important thing to me and it was so amazing that the Ottomans have kept all what they found at the time of conquering the city as it is ,they have even reconstruct some damaged icons like this one,and the more amazing thing they have not even removed the crosses from some buildings that have turned Islamic like Aya Sophia for instances,
this I have documented in my post Two Islamic Crosses the past year.
there are a lot of historic icons and places to be posted by me,just each in its turn,
my very best wishes,
Saad.

This looks excellent in mono tones my dear Saad with lots of horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines in giant puzzle of scaffolding. It is good to see history being preserved my dear friend. Well done to you. My very best wishes to you as always........Ray

PS The Romans were finally cast out of Rome by the Vandals in 476AD but Rome had been divided into East and West for some time and the final partition occurred in 395AD. The new Rome, Constantinople, was founded between 324-334 by Constantine I and became the main power in the World until it too made way again, this time to Mahomet II in 1453.
All great empires tend to crumble in the end, some last for a lot longer than others but nearly all Masters of the World make way for something else. It happened to my country, eventually.
Excuse me rambling on but Roman and Greek histories are a passion for me Saad and I have probably told you everything you already knew. Forgive me in my dotage .
