155 years ago on 16th August a train ran from Howrah to Hooghly (my present residence) for the first time on east Indian soil. It is a distance of 24 miles and the train ran at the speed of 37 km/h. The engine could contain 5000 gallon of water and 15 tons of coal. The Engine is called “ Shahensha”.
