Fall embellishes Malakoff Diggins State Park where history is very much alive in the North Bloomfield townsite located in the middle of the park. Several buildings have been reconstructed and refurnished to show what life was like in the 1870s when the town had a population of 1,500. Not only did this town serve as a residence for the miners, but it was the origin of all the supplies needed to extract the gold from the nearby hillside, the site of the largest hydraulic mining pit in California, another main feature of the park.

Sorry you did not have much of a fall, those brown leaves are surely a major disappointment. Hopefully the white snow will cover them soon and you can head to the slopes with your "Let's go fast and take sharp turns, Bop" grandson of yours! lol
Nice reds in this,looks a very interesting park. We had some severely cold weather a few weeks ago and our leaves were brown and then down. I have to look at the fall pictures here to have one. We went from summer to winter in a day. Be well, stan
