Nice to see you go in your experminents. To answer your question, I definitely have the feeling of shimmering summer lights in here. I share here Sue,s comment about the impresionnist rendering. If I had to do the same, I would probably apply the filter to only a portion of the image, perhaps to an out of focus background, much in the line of what you have done with the "Turtle Crossing", but that would be a very hard task with the stems standing out.

OK, John.
I like your exploration with textures that you have shown us recently. This one is hard for me...maybe it is the contrast range that makes it hard to focus on the image. i tried viewing it by backing up a bit, which made it easier. The brush strokes have an impressionist feeling, but the image seems to visually vibrate. I can't hold my eyes still on any one part of the image...they dart around looking for a place to land.
The sweet green grash at the bottom is appealing, as is the darker green trees. The white slashes are hard to view.
I hope that other people have a different experience with this image. it seriously could be my eyes rather than a problem with the image.
