About Lesson learned….
As we crossed the Iowa/Nebraska line I swerved a bit because something was on the road. MM shot a glare at me and said, “Watch out! This is where they started throwing things out!” I laughed for an hour… she had made a VERY funny comment on the westward migration in the United States of the late 19th century. A few hours down the highway we pulled into a museum. I had never heard of it… but it sounded pretty interesting. It was a museum of westward expansion. It was wonderful. The last pic of the female driver who did not have to turn on a blinker was one of the displays. Anyway, this specific display showed a wagon broken down and some household items that were discarded along the way. The trip from Iowa to Oregon (traveled in 3 hours today) took well over 3 months back in the day. Many families started off with family heirlooms and household goods that were thrown out after a few weeks to lighten the wagon and make passage easier. Books were stacked up all along the trails and became known as “Prairie Libraries.” It was with a smile I walked by this display and MM’s words came back to me, “Watch out! This is where they started throwing things out!” She made me laugh.
Oh, the lesson learned??? I am packing for my move to Montana… and I will remember to take only the things I really need. I made my list. MM shook her head… seems I have loaded up on music and books and books and books and other teaching items… and her list had things like toilet paper and toothpaste… and pots and pans…
Women… they just don’t get it…

Oh my goodness....no. Tell him to walk up to the next Yank he sees and say, "How ya doin'? Can you help me?" And I will bet ya $10.00 to a dog's turd... the person he approaches stops and tries to help him.

Well, tell him he hasn't met real Yanks... not until he meets me and mine. And remind him... it might not be the Yanks... it might just be the OZ-ees.. what set the tone. Maybe the problem is not us... it might be... him. Just a perspective suggestion.
