Yours is indeed a magnificent version. I agree I’ve left too much on the right side. My justification for it was to leave some space for the movement. It’s of the rules there are in the Book. Not that I stick to it to the letter but most of the time it works. Your version does not break the rule. It’s the space in front of the eyes that counts and there are plenty of it left in the square format. You win here.
As for me I am a panoramic addict. I shoot too many panoramas to squeeze my vision into the square. When I send my pics to the printing laboratory it’s usually a 2X3 format.
I’ve just visited that KIEV/USA website. It’s a pity I am on the digital. Looking at the images I can almost feel Kiev’s bulky body in my hands. Hey. I still have them, body and all the lenses in the box somewhere. When they start selling digital backs for a moderate price I’ll be the happiest man to handle them again.

Valerij,

You have given me the perfect opportunity to discuss what you wanted to talk about pertaining to 6 X 6 and 6 X 4.5 Medium Format Square Images and this most likely will be the most intelligent conversation that I have had on this Site in a long time my http://www.kievusa.com/ friend ...

The 'Subject Matter' being the Pelican itself is absolutely gorgeous in color and detail with absolute clarity especially contrasted to a solid black background with the original removed via extreme accuracy!

We have just a little problem though with the composition most likely because I am a 'Symetrical Perfectionist' in that the top and bottom margins do not correspond correctly to the right margin.

Therefore, what I have done per the attached if you don't mind is having corrected this by ever so slightly 'Cubically Squeezing' the entire image into a perfectly square formatted composition and then added my own 'Signature Framing' which is ready to mount and hang on any wall in any Living Room with a Decor of Black Leather Furniture and Snow White Painted Walls.

What do you think? Now you just have to work on a different 'Title' such as "AXE" derived from a Greek word applied to this bird's ability to cut wood with it's beak ...

Best of Regards,

~Sunset Man~
