M:You can have theories or feelings about colors .Everybody love one color and hate other.Not me.All are equal.What matters, to me, is the colors combination or balance in between them.As I said , in Funchal,Madeira capital, I decided -yes,I do not follow rules but my options- use and abuse of vivid colors,give it a surrealist treatment.The sky is my option as this warm yellow,brown dominant tone.Much before, Gauguin did the same and I am adict on paint and the brain behind my camera thinks in terms of paint.Of corse, that horizontal yellow fading is there because I want it there.There are details I did not care or spend any time correcting them, because,to me, they are irrelevants.Also, I said before, I do it my way.

Just before I fell asleep last night, I realized why it conveys both emotions that I attach to yellow. It is the scale that John talks about from left to right....

Yellow typically has to feelings imo. Sunny and bright - or hazy and disturbing (usually with the slightest cast of green) which is usually ominous or disturbing. Somehow, this photo encompasses both.

This is very different yellow tone! Did you give this tone using PS or is was a light? I like the scale that the yellow tone has from the left (that is stronger) to the right that is soft.
