Hi Darryl. It is not dangereous at all. I also have some shots from close distance but here I also wanted to capture another thermal source, the one in the foreground. The water falling down is not hot anymore, just warm, as it cool down from the air. Iceland is a wonderful place to visit. But next on my list is Yellowstone, next year I hope. Regards, Chris.

Well captured Christian. It seems a little dangerous for those people to be standing so close. Not only is there a danger of hot water but also the danger of the ground being fragile and collapsing under their weight. Thanks for the enjoyment of seeing this sight. Darryl
