Thanks Fil, Evan and Andrew. This photo in color was very beautiful but scanner changed colors to orange, high contrast and I decided to turn it into bw.
Despite the limitations of your scanner, your eye for fine portraiture is quite evident. I like the harshness of the contrast and the angle of the light.
i agree with Fil D, i thought it was an old picture as well, very nice effect (even if it was un-intentional) but, i would get a new scanner (unless you want all of your pictures to turn out like that)
Please don't change your scanner! This image is superb just because there is a lot of grain which makes it feel like an army image from the 60's or 70's. This is spectacular. Before I opened the thumbnail I though it was just that; a photo taken way back when. Everything is wonderful here. I can look at this image for hours. Very well done!
