The dark spots on the upper right side of the frame are grains of silver resulting from exposure of the silver halide by radioactivity located in the stained histologic section just below them. This high-resolution autoradiography is a alternative photographic process. In this case, the exposed film shows where in the tissue the radioactive chemical is located. The radiopharmaceutical localized in the bone where mineralization was taking place. Sorry to be pedantic, but this was a type of photography that held my interest for several years. Just maybe someone else will find it interesting.
