Cool shot, Bob! Well chosen vantage point that really emphasizes the early-morning feel of the shot. I like the way almost everything is in silhouette but the canoe and tarp that are picking up the first bit of color. Really nice!

I'm new to UF and appreciate the warm reception from other members! The reason I selected this as my best photo is that it has good memories for me, and was designed to achieve a personal photographic objective. That objective was to produce a monochromatic photograph that wasn't black and white, wasn't sepia, and wasn't the result of a filter or toning. Simplicity was the result. The image also records that dream world that transports us out of the office, to a place in time and experience we day-dream about.

Great shot! My husband would be so jealous... and I would be worried about large amphibians bedding down in the canoe with me! :-) The lighting and silouttes are terrific! Is that your silouette? If so, did you have the camera on a tripod with a timer?

I was guessing Everglads due to the trees, not what I am use to, more white water stuff. Anyway, It truly has a feel to it, the browns with the blue in the is great! A wonderful image. The sun behind the shilloette is done very well, Great photo!
