Simply a fantastic looking IR of one of my fav subjects. Love the depth and the cool cloud trails in the sky. Nice work on the simple white frame!

Bob - I like this shot, but unlike most of the viewers, I don't care for the contrails. Is this someplace you can get to easily, because I'd love to see a shot with puffy cumulus clouds instead of the contrail? The sky aside, a wonderful composition - Bob T.

Wonderful use of the skytrails. Very moody yet interesting picture. Thanks for your comments on my pictures. I had not seen the IR category. Guess I am just not looking at what I am doing. I have been trying the IR with my Nikon 5700 but most images are pretty soft unless the sun is real bright. I have been trying to print 13x19 prints and they just do not look all that good. The smaller images look pretty good. Thanks again and will be looking for more of your work. Don.

Bob, the corrected version is much better! hey, I have the same camera... just curious as to what filter you used, and what is your favorite process for converting to black and white. Mine never turn out this well when I try to convert to b/w.

In order to correct the tilt, I rotated the image 2 degrees clockwise. Looks like this corrected most of the problem. Thanks for the feedback, ya'll.

Beverly, the frame was created with PS7, but Elements will also create frames. Lots of choices are canned, making it a lot easier to learn. The PS process creates matt and other rectangles by making the canvas size larger, and adding solid layers in a series of steps, starting on the inside and working out to the drop shadow on the virtual wall. I flattened the visable image between each step. The process is 'kinda' fun, so I create a new frame for each picture; haven't settled on a formula yet.

WOW Bob, that sky is amazing! I love the way the wisps lead my eye to the lighthouse. I wish there was a bit more light on the foreground grasses, and the lighthouse appears slightly tilted to the left, but that could be an optical illusion. Great photo just the same! Was the matt and frame added in PS? I can never figure out how to do that...and I love the look.

Kyle, about the tilt: the Gulf of Mexico is on the left, and it looks like the camera is tilted to the right, but the wide angle makes the lighthouse look like it's tilting to the left. Thanks, I noticed the same; will try to correct this problem. The clouds don't help in they may be contributing to an optical illusion. One of my problems is keeping the camera level. Guess I'll have to get one of those with the leveler built in;>)
