About This was a very lucky shot in more ways than one, it was an overcast day on Lake Kariba and myself and a friend had just climbed off the houseboat in picture into a small motor boat so that we could go fishing and we had arranged to meet up with the houseboat at a particular island later on in the day, as the houseboat sailed away from us we came across the realisation that the motor on our boat was not working and being stuck on a boat in the middle of Kariba with no motor is not the best idea (for those of you that don't know, Lake Kariba is approximately the size of Wales and is full of crocodiles) After much screaming, yelling and wistling the captain heard us and started to turn the boat around to come back for us so I decided to take a couple of photos of it. In the middle of the turn a ray of sunlight broke through the clouds and perfectly illuminated the boat as you see it in the picture. I grabbed this shot as quickly as I could and a couple of seconds later the sun was gone and any other pictures would have been dull and boring. The end result is that this almost looks like a shot that has been set up in a studio (a bloody big one) or has been digitally manipulated however this is not the case, it is totally unretouched. I think God was looking down at me taking pics and thought "Dammit Bob, those pics are never going to come out, you need some light there" and viola!!

In this situation, you were lucky, apart from the shot... Light is very good, sun was announcing you imminent salvation :-) but IMO boat is a bit too centered.. and a bit of detail more would have improve the picture.. Regards! Lorenzo
