About There is nothing more beautiful and frightening than watching a Texas hail storm form right in front of you as the sun sets. This has happened to me more than once since I moved here -- I have the hail damage on my car to prove it. Taken in San Antonio in the mission area.

Hail, fellow traveller well met.

Just added this to my favorites. The cloud pattern is fantasic -- so darkly evil, and yet beautifully matched to the tones of the monastary. The strong sidelight on the monastary does, indeed, give it a feeling of santuary in the storm, and the dark foreground finishes the composition with a perfect touch. Can't help but wonder how the monks would have responded had the wickedly gorgeous photographer entered asking the standard, "what's under the robes, big boys?"

Carol, there are lots of photos of great skies, but having a strong subject in front of the sky makes for a wonderful image.

Carol, touching the wood on my desk, but we haven't had that kind of hail yet up here, the dreaded golf balls! But you can't beat a Texas storm...gets ya adrenalin a pumping!
This is really beautifully. Love the colours. Very rich.

Wow this is dramatic Carol, bit scary too by the sound of it. Glad you survived the bad weather the other day, heard that got a bit nasty too. Love the earthy tones in this one.
