I agree with Steve, that shots are placed here to be critiqued, and everyone should give their opinion on things they feel strongly about. But Steve, on the other hand, this did challenge my skills, as there was hardly any light in the area I was shooting, and so I tried out bracketing shots to get the right amount of exposure and light to illuminate the dog. I wrote down what I was trying and when the results came back some were good, others were underexposed, so I was testing myself as a photographer to try out bracketing shots and how many I really need to try, and different time frames to use. Just thought that I would post my ideas. Thanks to everyone who has commented, critically or with praise. Each opinion is welcomed.

You're right Quinn. However, I feel pet shots, for whatever reason, are too easy.
Obviously, a pet that's laying on the floor under a table lamp, isn't much of a skills challenge and any photo posted here, welcomes to be critique. Critically or praised.
The range of opinions offered, makes all of us think.

I disagree with Steve. There's ALWAYS more than one right answer in photography. That's the beauty of it. I like this image. It's a very intimate and interesting photograph. The light is nice (very warm). The long exposure gave the image an interesting dream-like (surreal) quality. That's my take, good job.

The softness is precisely what moves me about this photo. This is my cuppa tea.

I really like this. I like the swirls of texture and the tight framing. This is truly an intimate portrait of a close friend.

Thanks Steve and Moayad. It's nice to see the range of comments, from "I really don't like this" to " I think it's nice" To each their own opinion and it's nice to hear what everyone thinks, whether good or bad, and especially how to change it!

I think It's a great shoot
The softeness of the picture and the poor lighting in Mr. Kompier's standards are perfect in mine's :)
It looks like a Rembrandt ;)

Hi Kim...
I don't see character or demeanor. I do see a soft picture and poor lighting.
If you're going to wait 3 secs to shoot this, use a reflector or some fill. Your getting to be a very good photographer. Challenge yourself beyond these kind of shots.
