like this shot - nice colors and imagery.. was there a reason
to cut of at the knees? was something in the way?

very nice silhouette you have achieved. If I am going to be picky, I would say to not cut them off at the knees - depending on whether that would have cluttered the image or not. Nontheless, this idea of not cutting off at knees is more important in portrait work than silhouettes - nice image.
