This was taken in some place of Agua Prieta, Sonora, México, i was on a trip and i liked this moment to be captured.. but all i had was my digital toy camera... well, i expect comments on this one, and hope you like it...
david and kenneth, thanks a lot for your comments, this was actually a color picture, but as i?m starting on b&w photography i really appreciate your comments... about the filters, that?s something i didn?t know, its good to learn, but in the case of this shot, i wouldn?t be able to use any filters because i took it with a toy camera and through a window, hehe well, thanks for your opinion, it?s really important, i?ll just keep shooting as soon as i get a new camera, mine is broken =S , i?m dying to start shooting again!! haha, regards..
The concept of this shot is cool. A car like that and a tire make for good photographic subjects - they give a nice sense of abandonment. The composition as is works. But a more balanced shot might have the tire and the car at opposite golden mean spots. I can't make out what the dark stuff in the centre is and it bothers me slightly. As a black and white shot, the tonal range can be expanded. Try using colour filters while shooting or (since this is a digital photo) play with the channel mixer and then selectively dodge and burn the shot in Photoshop. Well-seen shot!
I like this photo, it has a very unique feel to it, showing the desolation that can exist in life. The lone tire is a nice balance to the car, in my opinion
