Hello Jean-François:
In the combination of glass, bottle and texture here I see a strong sense of affinity to the 30's "maitre d'affiche" such as Capellio and Villemont. A very beautiful and a graphic still life.

Toni - I think you're right. The focus plane must be somewhere near the far end of the glass. Thanks.

Stefan, I am not the photographer, but it appears that the bottom of the glass was inside the sharp focal range, and the top of the glass was right on the edge on the frontal outside of the range. It can happen depending on where you set the focus.

Very smart photo. It looks like the bottom of the glass is in focus, but the top isn't, yet the bottle is quite sharp. How did that happen. I love the minimalist approach - even the bottle appears to be empty!
