I caught this one at 1am on a cold morning this last March a week or so after I got my CoolPix camera. I was still learning to use the camera, and not wanting to miss the shot I let the camera do all the exposure work for me. I seldom do that now.
The aircraft in the foreground is an old Russian transport donated to our local air museum. I placed it in the foreground to give the fire some scale. I like the effect and this picture. But the extremes in light and dark was really pushing the capabilities of this compact digital camera. Also suffered some lens flare due to the way the fire light was hitting the lens. I sort of like it though.
