your photos are a thing but they pick the imagination so much to make to think to other things. Are you perhaps an illusionist ehehehh? this seems me the eye of a petrified crocodile ahahahah. Excellent shot

I like it as is, but it would make an interesting experiment to use different light and treatements to bring out the character or this piece of wood.

Reminds me of the eye of some ancient creature frozen in time. The angle of light added to the high contrast really brings out the textures here.

ah - Osage orange -

Little hard green brains - I used to collect them when I was a child because they had to be good for something - they were so fascinating - never did figure out what they were good for!!

Yes - durable posts - but wonderfully gnarled and crooked too - makes for interesting fences...

You made a nice treatment in b+w. Is it just me or is the eye following my every movement?

I like very powerfully contrasted pic. The light and the shadows gives the eyes alot of details about this pic. Well done!

Harlan, in some way, this is another dreamscape. One can "see" so many things in it besides the great textures and tones. It can be a volcano, or some part of Mars.... Excellent.
Thank your the song. I simply loved it. Marília

A good lesson in: how careful lighting accentuates an interesting texture.

Thanks, Mr. Heald!
