About Study on Rim lighting. Fill Flash used. For the experiment I used an Expired roll of film, which worked OK, I guess. //Added later : I should have mentioned that this is my two and of half year old son. He has long hair due to some custom for now. Sorry for not mentioning before.

Wonderful portrait of a beautiful model!

I like the light in the hair, the small dof and the warm colors. The boy?s look is great too :)

Best wishes

You did good with this one. The background is a bit distracting but what the heck, you have a handsome son here and he is definately the feature attraction here! Nice work with the combination of fill and backlight. How long has that chain lasted???

I agree with Bjorn on the cropping but the DOF is perfect for this subject imho. Tje osition of the pole coming out of the nose is just a tad distracting and I would wish away the necklace also but otherwise I love it!

Backlighting is awesome!!

Hi Elangs, he does look great in this picture, the rimlight is great too, two remarks: a little too tightly croped on top, and the background is not ideal.
BTW: My eldest son is about the same age. Tell me about that Indian custom some time...

Thanks for the comments guys! Before its getting too much... i must say, this is my son (2years 6mths). Due to some Indian custom he has long hair for now. Sorry for not mentioning before. Let me change the about col. to.

Thanks again.
Elangs.

she's gorgeous, isn't she... the rim light and the fill flash are perfect... couldn't be better... the background on the other hand is marred by unnecessary clutter... even out of focus, the white object is poorly placed... still, she's gorgeous!

I think the backlighting is excellent to set off that beautiful profile...your dof is perfect leaving her profile right in the foreground..excellent
