Ahh, I see! Yep, you lost me with the title! *grin* Amazing that this is natural restoration at work... all I can think of is all the poor trees lighting up like candles. Great vantage point, and excellent juxtaposition with the burned out and the burning out.

Thankyou, Kim. I think I confused you with the title, which is metaphorical (this is a local forest fire in Glacier Park). The haze and smoke look artificial, but there is no photograph manipulation. The trees are a stand that was previously burned out in the early 90's, overlooking a newly burning fire. I see this as a time of rebirth, though Victorian morals judge this differently.

At first I thought that this must be near a forest fire out your way... it has the smoky/misty look that most of BC and Alberta are sporting nowadays. Love the levels of mountains and great use of foreground with the trees on the right. A nice document.
