Ryan, Thanks for the detailed comments - they are most appreciated. I'll give your advice a try and see how things turn out? Not sure I have the light that you do in Hockey, but it would make me real happy if your suggestion works.
In looking through your portfolio, it is impressive. I enjoy shooting sports and found this one to be exceptional. I most like the fact that you were able to capture the facial expression and the timing. The focus and DOF also help to focus attention - nice job there too. Regards, Dan

great timing!! is there a flash system in the rink or are you just shooting with a large aperature? i film all the home games for the colorado college tigers coaching staff, which doesn't allow me to photograph the games. I would love to try.. Great capture! love the game!!!
