david,
none of your pictures seem weaker than the others to me and I only picked up the latest you've posted because i wanted to make a general comment so it could have been any of them really.. anyway, i'm going to make make another general comment but this time i choose that picture because it shows exactly where you come from and what you're trying to do as well as it has all the qualities i need to illustrate what i'm going to say now..
so, you're using a splendid camera (lucky you) and there is no doubt you can use it, especially when for moments like this one you don't have much time to think before the shot.. not to mention that the panning makes it an arty snap.. some won't miss the opportunity to to call this a decisive moment in the paws of cartier bresson and quite a successful one indeed (need i mention that i've always found the predictive af on modern camera completely boring..). but for me being there at the right time (lucky you again) whether you're a great technician or not is just not enough because i miss the before and the after.. i need the whole story and i'd give anything for it because that's what life is all about.. you're not living only juxtaposed moments but an endless series of more or less important events and sequences and capturing and eventually showing the less important moment is surely as interesting as capturing the one you may find decisive for some reason.. then, that is certainly why i think that whatever the subject you choose to illustrate, you shouldn't put all your efforts in one single shot however good it is in the end because you simply risk loosing the context, hence the interest on the original subject.. see what i mean?

Again, your signature tones and composition. YOu are so skilled at capturing that perfect moment and framing it well.

This gentleman does, indeed, look grumpy. Very very grunpy.

David, another one.
Splendid B$W. He is just there, standig still, while the world goes by in a different speed. Perfect tones and composition. Love the title as well. Marília
