John, I think perhaps any lack of sharpness is due to the strong wind. But I'm suprised you can see that at the resolution of the web--I have to admit, I don't see it. The location is near the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve, 15 miles or so west of Lancaster. That far west, there aren't Joshua trees.
My son doesn't take a lot of photos, I suspect this shot is still in his camera after 5 months!
Great shot, Ken! I'd love to see the shot HE took! Can you put it up as a sequel? A little more DOF would've helped this photo, I think. Just a little more sharpness on the midrange poppies. But I'd love to have been in that place at that time. Where in the Mojave were you? I don't see any Joshua trees!
