Continuing my images of Ethiopian Jews, this picture is one of a series shot in the very dark interior of a hovel in Addis Ababa in which this woman lives. She is in constant pain from a undiagnosed condition. This was the sharpest of the images (note that it was shot at 1/6). The others are, perhaps, more effective, because they show her holding her hand to her head as she writhes in pain. But they are much more blurred, whereas this somehow is in sharp focus on her left eye. I guess it's hard for anyone to judge whether the others would be more effective. If enough people ask to see them, I'll post them. In any event, I'll welcome comments on this image on at least the following: Does it show her anguish sufficiently? Should it be b&w?
