About Times Square NYC. Scene right in front of one of the biggest Toys r Us stores I have ever seen. I personally love this effect.

Very very good. I love the treatment. And I see a message here: We consummers have much more toys than we really need. It shows well our materialist way of life in Nort-America.

Again very nice..... sorry much better to my taste! Very nice because of the great colours of this building and its advertisments.

Hello Again Gregory:

Well I just saw your comment on Hakan's "meanwhile" thread, so I know you went inside. Pretty amazing.

About the effect, as someone who has been fiddling around with PS effects for more than a decade, there's a couple of thoughts I can share. One is that if you love an effect today, you'll probably hate it tomorrow. Little wonder, then, that a lot of other people aren't going to wild about it either.

Second, as Rhonda implies, it's really important to try to match effect and subject. This obviously gets easier as you develop more familiarity with all the PS and its filters.

Third, and really this is most important, don't think of filters such as the PS Artistic set, the Distort filters or third party filters like Eye Candy as efffects. They're really just the foundation for an effect. It's how you use them in conjunction with all the stardard PS filter capabilities, especially adjustment layers, blending modes, and layer masks, that will let you achieve subtle variations and, eventually, discover entirely unique combinations. It ain't easy. It is great fun! --Jim

Great effect, and the bright colors are perfect for Toys R Us!

Hope you had a chance to ride the carousel inside. I like the effect also, but would have been tempted to give the upper corners a yank at Edit>Transform>Perspective to get the lines on all those office towers vertical. --Jim

Ah the 'idyllic' Toys r Us! The ones I recall spending hours in were more like a giant quonset hut in appearance.:) Very colourful, I like the effect you have come up with too.

Thanks for your always encouraging comments to me. I appreciate it very much Gregory.
Barry just retired last year, but still does cruises. I don't think he'll ever put down that guitar! He looks fantastic for his age too, more like Mr Clean now as he shaves his head! ;) Great guy.
