I'm dubious about the whole idea of "abstracts," feeling that any photo is an abstract of some sort. Nitpicking philosophy apart, this is a very successful shot, with that one leaf standing out like a sore thumb and the rest pure pattern. Fine color too.

I would have liked a closer macro for an abstract, I think as it is it'll work better in conjuction with another image.

Hard to identify the objects without the title. Guess that makes it a good abstract:-) Some more tonal variation would have bben better. I can see other uses for this as well, e.g. with the proper opacity this can be a texture overlay on some other image.

It is an effective abstract. Would look good blown up to a large size. I can't tell why at this size but it doesn't seem tack sharp - perhaps due to the the scan?
