About Shot with Cokin P173 blue/yellow polarizer and 2-stop ND grad, at hyperfocal, on tripod. Shooting in this area near the summer solstice was not the smartest thing to do. Sunrise: 4:10am. Wake up time: 2:30am.
Location: Forillon National Park, Quebec, Canada. A bit of a personal annoucement; I am moving to the SF Bay area for a job. I'll continue to comment and post when I get online. In the mean time, take care and good shooting.

This is outstanding work - it's always a pleasure to stop by this portfolio. I appreciate not only the softness of the water, the soft calming colors, but the balance in this photo - meticulous composition.

I will soon be travelling to some of these same eastern locations Kenneth, I hope to get images even half as beautiful - and I better get that alarm clock set as well!

Heh, awww, everybody beat me to it. I was going to say something to the effect of "John Shepard just called, he wants that roll of film you borrowed back."

Seriously though, there's not much I can say other than that is is yet another fabulous shot to add to your remarkably high-quality portfolio. Following what Mike said, I'd say you've quickly established yourself as one of the best photographers on the site yourself.

I mistook this for a John Shephard sunrise. That is about the best complement you can get from me because I consider John Shephard to be the best photographer on this site.

very nice one. But I still much prefer the other similar one.

Good luck with the new job. If it isn't directly connected with photography, it would be a great loss. How does the blue/yellow polarizer change the look of the image, compared with a normal polarizer?

Kenneth,

What else can be said but "Wonderful", "Beautiful", "Stunning". Anoter great one. I really am glad to see you put your information about which filters, and any other technical facts you can supply. Thanks for the information and dont wait too long to post again. I think I have become addicted to yours and Vincents work.

Wonderful Kenneth. As Vincent stated, this has a JohnS feel to it. I need to spend some money on some filters and an alarm clock.

Look forward to your image from the Bay area, when you get settled.

This looks like one of John Shepard's sunrises. A real compliment. Lighting and colors are less dramatic, but this really works here. It is once again a peaceful, calming, subtle image. Your eyes start on the left bottom corner and work their way around up, and to the right and then on around to the left. Your abilities with photoshop are stellar in my opinion. Thanks for the early rise! Great job.
