I did this in less than 10 shots. Camera on tripod with locked focus. Flash.
Slipped waterdrops in front of camera and shot.
Lucky, of course, to get this.

Extremely interesting image. It almost looks like the drop is falling through air. I think it would look better if you eliminated some of the background and focused more on the drop.
